Traxx trains for Europe from Alstom are in trend now. Last year, the company made a lot of important agreements for its third-generation locomotives, and it was followed by an order in January this year from ARF, Romania, with 20 years of related upkeep facilities. The good news is, there are more on the way.
Adrian Kurz, Market and Portfolio Director for Locomotives and Rolf Schreiber, the Product Director of Traxx locomotives for Europe said that Alstom witnessed a very fruitful order opening for Traxx principal locomotives in Europe in 2023, especially for the Poland to France and France to Italy rail routes. The Traxx Universal platform presents robust, dependable locomotives with better-quality mechanical performance and upkeep. This is significant for all operators, who require managing their functioning prices prudently.
Alstom’s engines offer a maximum power of 6.4 MW and are proficient enough to pull trains with an extraordinary tractive energy of up to 340 kN, which lets customers to pull more carriages.
Arming their engines with Alstom’s recognized signalling arrangement Onvia, previously Atlas, has assisted in securing the confidence of their customers. Onvia is the principal on the train solution for ETCS and country-specific ‘Class B’ signalling arrangements, which means that their engines are appropriate for both single-countries along with on corridor (multiple-countries) usage.
