American Airline Includes 100 Team Members In The Circle Of Excellence

American Airlines celebrated the induction of 100 exceptional team members into the prestigious Circle of Excellence during a recognition event in Dallas-Fort Worth in November. Formerly known as the Chairman’s Award, the Circle of Excellence represents the highest honor bestowed upon team members for their career achievements, exemplary customer service, and commitment to American Airlines.

This year’s honorees, selected from over 1,600 peer nominations globally, collectively boast 2,543 years of service with American and its legacy carriers. The average length of service among them is an impressive 25 years. The diverse group includes individuals from Argentina, Australia, England, Israel, Mexico, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, and the United States.

The award, renamed in 2023 to emphasize the focus on the recipients, recognizes individuals who have gone beyond their responsibilities to contribute to the success of American Airlines. CEO Robert Isom commended the honorees as dedicated leaders and problem solvers who have played a pivotal role in the airline’s success.

The ceremony highlighted stories of resilience and leadership during challenging times. One standout recipient, Racheli Vardi, General Manager in Tel Aviv, Israel, demonstrated unwavering commitment during the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully evacuating crews and customers during regional challenges.

Another remarkable honoree, first officer Kevaughn Hammond based in New York, inspired peers to pursue aviation careers and was recognized for his passion and mentorship.

The celebration included a two-day experience featuring an exclusive tour, brunch at the Robert L. Crandall Campus, and an evening gala at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. Each honoree received a special pin, trophy, and a $10,000 reward.

American Airlines expressed gratitude for the honorees’ outstanding contributions, emphasizing their role in making American the world’s greatest airline. The Circle of Excellence remains a symbol of excellence and recognition within the airline industry.
