Minor Hotels, a global player in the hotel industry with over 540 establishments spanning 56 countries across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and the Americas, reveals its ongoing expansion of the Anantara brand in Oman. The latest addition is a luxurious resort in Bandar Al Khairan, Muscat, situated on the rugged Omani coast, a mere 45-minute drive from the capital. Anticipated to open its doors in 2026, this new 121-key property will be a noteworthy development.

Operated by Anantara, the resort in Bandar Al Khairan will showcase 51 guest rooms, 46 chalets, and 24 villas perched along the mountain shoreline, offering captivating views of the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Oman. Crafted for contemporary luxury within a breathtaking natural landscape, each spacious guest room promises to be a stylish retreat within the heart of the resort. Villas, ranging from one to two bedrooms, will be strategically placed amidst lush gardens to ensure heightened privacy. Some units will feature private pools, providing exclusive relaxation and added comfort during Oman’s warm summers. The culinary experience will be paramount, with five dining options, including all-day international dining, a specialty restaurant, a beachfront eatery, a deli café, and a rooftop bar with stunning sea views.

The new Anantara resort in Bandar Al Khairan will boast premium facilities, including an infinity swimming pool, a kids’ splash pool, a kids and teens club lounge, meeting and events spaces, and a helipad. Emphasizing wellbeing, the property will house an Anantara Spa and a fitness center, complemented by a private stargazing majlis for guests to appreciate the pristine night sky. Positioned along the seafront, the property is ideal for leisure guests seeking a retreat in a premier wellness and marine discovery destination or as a tranquil venue for hosting memorable events and business occasions.

Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of parent company Minor International, commented, “The timeless beauty of the Omani coast is a natural home for this upcoming new addition to our Middle East portfolio. Musstir are trusted partners who share our vision for the potential of this magnificent destination and our dedication to excellence across every element. Our team and I look forward to seeing this new Anantara come to fruition between the mountains and the sea.”

Safana Al Barwani, the Managing Director of Musstir, said, “We are thrilled to grow our partnership with Minor Hotels and to add a new jewel to the crown of hospitality in Oman. The new Anantara Resort in Bandar Al Khairan will blend harmoniously with its striking natural surroundings to help showcase the graceful majesty of our incredible home and invite travelers of the world to experience it for themselves.”

The Anantara resort in Bandar Al Khairan is part of Minor Hotels’ broader expansion strategy, with new openings planned in 2024, 2025, and 2026 across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. This addition will join the growing roster of Anantara properties in the Middle East, which includes established resorts in Oman and properties in the UAE and Qatar.
