Antigua is quite an acquainted Caribbean destination for several travel enthusiasts out there. However, it’s smaller sister island, Barbuda, is less known to others. That’s partially because Barbuda having much less hotels and resorts compared to Antigua, but also due to the fact that the island has been spending the last few years reviving from the destruction caused by Irma, the major Hurricane, which in 2017 blasted the island with around 185-mph gusty winds, leveling almost everything in sight.
Unnecessary to add though it’s a big deal for both Barbuda and travel advisors looking to direct travel enthusiasts to a remote Caribbean destination that Rosewood Hotels and Resorts had declared about their plans to open in 2028 a luxury beach resort on Barbuda.
This exotic Rosewood Barbuda will have around 50 resort suites and 35 residences built on 85 acres of beachfront property; the company declared in December 2023. The resort would be the fourth Caribbean property of this brand, connecting with the Bahamas – luxury Rosewood Baha Mar, British Virgin Islands – Rosewood Little Dix Bay and the Rosewood Le Guanahani St. Barth.
In 2018, Rosewood has declared of opening a luxury resort in Half moon bay in Antigua. However, this project got suddenly stopped.
