The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, set to take place from May 6-9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is gearing up to be a pivotal event for the global aviation industry, bringing together leading airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and other key stakeholders to delve into the sector’s latest innovations and trends. With a focus on sustainability and the vital role of startups in shaping the future of travel and tourism, the event promises to highlight the transformative forces at play within the industry.
This 31st edition of the ATM is themed ‘Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship’, spotlighting the significant contributions of startups and innovators to the sector. In line with this theme, the ATM has forged partnerships with the Aviation X Lab and the Intelak programme, initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and supporting startups to drive the travel industry forward.
The Aviation X Lab, an incubator launched in 2017 that collaborates with major aviation players, is dedicated to fostering sustainable, innovative solutions to reshape aviation’s future. Similarly, the Intelak programmes, comprising the Idea Lab, Incubator, and Accelerator, are designed to nurture startups and encourage the development of groundbreaking ideas across travel, aviation, and tourism.
Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME of ATM, emphasized the event’s commitment to showcasing entrepreneurial ventures across various sectors, including aviation, accommodation, and hospitality, and its focus on sustainable innovation as a pathway for growth. The ATM 2024 aims to serve as a platform for discussing critical issues such as technology, innovation, and sustainability in aviation, reflecting the industry’s urgent need to address climate change and its carbon footprint.
Highlighting the importance of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) as a key solution for reducing aviation’s environmental impact, the event will feature discussions on SAF’s role in achieving the aviation industry’s net-zero emissions target by 2050. Emirates, among other participating airlines, will showcase its sustainability initiatives, including its investment in eco-efficient aircraft and the integration of sustainable materials on board.
The ATM 2024, in collaboration with strategic partners including the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Emirates, aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the aviation industry’s current state and its future direction, focusing on innovation and sustainability as the keys to transforming travel and tourism.
