Trip.com Group has announced an unprecedented achievement in Abu Dhabi, with over 57,000 room nights booked in the past year, marking a record high.

Since sealing a strategic partnership at the Arabian Travel Market last year, Trip.com Group, encompassing renowned travel brands such as Ctrip, Trip, Skyscanner, Travix, and MakeMyTrip, has been instrumental in drawing global visitors to Abu Dhabi. This concerted effort has positioned the UAE capital as a premier travel destination, particularly in key markets across Asia and Europe.

Across Trip.com Group’s diverse travel platforms, Middle East-focused content garnered over 300 million impressions, indicating a surging interest in this region among travelers.

During a meeting in Abu Dhabi, Bo Sun, Chief Marketing Officer of Trip.com Group, met with Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi, along with his team overseeing APAC and China markets. They reviewed the success of previous campaigns and engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the evolution of the Middle East travel market, with a specific emphasis on Abu Dhabi.

The discussions also delved into forthcoming plans for 2024, with a particular emphasis on the strategic significance of the outbound China market. Notably, from 2022 to 2023, outbound travel bookings from Chinese travelers to the United Arab Emirates experienced a remarkable threefold increase year-on-year across all Trip.com Group products.

Mr. Sun conveyed his keen enthusiasm and firm commitment to bolstering collaboration with DCT Abu Dhabi to realize mutual objectives in the times ahead.

“We are thrilled to promote the charming destination of Abu Dhabi, as well as other Middle East destinations. Given the pivotal role of tourism in driving the region’s economic growth, we must bolster collaboration in the region. By doing so, we can ensure that we capitalise on the growing global interest in the Middle East and foster greater success alongside our partners.”

Trip.com Group is poised for expansion into the Middle East, with preparations underway to establish a regional office. Leveraging strategic partnerships and strengthened cooperation, Trip.com Group is dedicated to meeting the demands of Middle Eastern consumers, thereby reinforcing its position as a leading player in the region’s travel sector.
