As the national parks are currently closed due to rainy season, buffer zone tourism is yet to pick up. All over Madhya Pradesh, tourism industry has almost come to a complete standstill. Apart from Pachmarhi, there is scanty footfall in most of the hotspots across this central state.

Known for its hot and humid weather conditions, MP has no incoming international flights at this moment. Khajuraho and Orchha are experiencing seldom tourism activity. Only from July 1st, Ram Raja temple in Orchha is drawing devotees after it was opened for public. The Queen of Satpura – Pachmarhi has continued to attract tourists in large numbers whatsoever. Also, the present weather conditions have contributed to greater number of tourist footfall compared to other destinations, said an official of the MP Tourism Development Corporation.

Pachmarhi’s various properties of the tourism development corporation are already booked, a source said. “People visit this tourist destination in summers too, but Pachmarhi is at its best in the monsoon season when Satpura range comes alive and you find yourself amidst floating clouds”, said Rupesh Rao, a visitor.
