On September 1, two more special services have been scheduled. A morning train will depart from Nairobi Terminus at 9.40 a.m., while an additional afternoon service will leave Mombasa Terminus at 4.30 p.m.

These extra departures are expected to benefit passengers who may have been affected by flight disruptions and are seeking a dependable alternative for long-distance domestic travel.

The Madaraka Express normally operates three scheduled daily services connecting Nairobi and Mombasa. Regular trains depart from both terminals at 8.00 a.m., 3.00 p.m. and 10.00 p.m., offering morning, afternoon and late-night travel choices for commuters, tourists and business passengers.

The introduction of special services allows Kenya Railways to temporarily increase capacity while maintaining its normal operations.
