Austrian Airlines app becomes a digital travel companion

A fresher design, comprehensive information and easy to use – the new Austrian app, available for Android (from version 5) and iOS (from version 13), offers new and useful features along the entire travel chain. The Austrian app was developed together with customers. In addition to the optimized, sleek design, passengers benefit from many new functions with added value. After downloading or updating the already installed app, customers have a digital travel companion at their side – from booking to check-in and landing. “By adding new features, we want to optimize our digital touchpoints and make it as easy and pleasant as possible for customers to use our services for an all-round relaxed flight,” says Austrian Airlines CCO Michael Trestl.

The digital Austrian Airlines travel companion

Since last summer, the entire route network of the Lufthansa Group can be booked on the austrian.com website through a new booking platform. The entire range of flights offered by Austrian Airlines, Brussels, Eurowings, Eurowings Discover, Lufthansa and SWISS can now also be booked easily and conveniently via Austrian app. This also applies to additional services such as baggage bookings or seat reservations. The new app not only provides an overview of the booking, but also accompanies passengers along the entire travel chain and informs them proactively about the relevant facts they need at the time of their flight. For example, passengers are notified of flight schedule changes via push notifications and get real-time information such as the status of their luggage from drop-off to pick-up, or have access to the Austrian Melangerie offering and eJournals.

The app will be continuously developed and enhanced with new features, such as digital document check or the possibility to redeem flight value vouchers.

Those who are already registrated on austrian.com can log in with this profile in the new app. If you are a Miles & More customer, you can now also log in to the Austrian app with your Miles & More profile. This will automatically transfer all bookings you have made via third-party providers, such as travel agencies, to the Austrian app.
