Austrian Airlines offers private medical travel assistance

Austrian Airlines is now offering private accompaniment and care service by medical professionals to passengers with special medical needs. The new additional service is available on all Austrian Airlines flights in cooperation with the provider Medical Travel Companions (MTC). The home carrier is thus responding to the increased demand for medical support in recent months. Austrian Airlines Passengers can now select one of the individual premium service packages when booking their flight for an additional fee. The packages include individually customizable services, such as assistance by qualified nursing staff or a doctor. Depending on the package selected, the accompanying person provides support before, during and after the flight, for example during transit stops or when accompanying the passenger to a PCR test at the airport.

This new Austrian Airlines service offer is aimed not only at individuals but also at families with children or groups who would like support or more autonomy on their flight. The fees for a Medical Travel Companion (MTC) depend on the service requested and range from EUR 450 to EUR 2,900.
