Avani Hotels & Resorts is dedicated to making a positive impact through its Dollars for Deeds CSR program in Asia. This initiative empowers guests to contribute to various noble causes, such as supporting children’s hospitals in Laos, disability organizations in Bali, elephant foundations in Thailand, and coral reef protection programs in the Indian Ocean. Guests are encouraged to participate in this opt-out initiative by donating one dollar per night of their stay, with the parent company Minor Hotels matching each donation dollar for dollar. By joining the pledge, Avani enables guests to give back to the communities and environments encountered during their travels in Asia.

In Laos, Avani+ Luang Prabang collaborates with the Lao Friends Hospital for Children, treating over 35,000 children annually. Through the Dollars for Deeds program, the hotel ensures that for every one-night stay, it generates the equivalent of 50 ampoules of vitamin B1 to combat life-threatening diseases, a casting kit for broken and fractured bones, or a doctor’s appointment for life-saving diagnoses.

Team members from Avani+ Luang Prabang actively participated in the local Run for Children half marathon during the autumn season, aiming to raise awareness and additional funds for the Lao Friends Hospital for Children.

Avani Seminyak Bali Resort supports the Annika Linden Centre in providing care for children with disabilities. Contributions from Avani’s Dollars for Deeds program go towards physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions, economic empowerment through inclusive employment opportunities, and providing prosthetics, orthotics, and wheelchairs for those with physical disabilities.

In Thailand, each of Avani’s eleven properties, from Phuket to Pattaya, contributes to various foundations and centers, such as the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation, the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, and the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center. The Dollars for Deeds program also extends support to the Kianh Foundation in Vietnam and a coral reef protection program at Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort.

John Roberts, Group Director of Sustainability & Conservation for Minor Hotels, expresses pride in the enthusiasm of the Avani teams, as Dollars for Deeds provides much-needed support to great causes throughout the region.

With the continued global expansion of Avani Hotels & Resorts, there are plans for the Dollars for Deeds program to become a brand-wide initiative in 2024, supporting local charities and wildlife organizations across Europe, Africa, Australia, the Middle East, and beyond. The Dollars for Deeds program was initially introduced almost a decade ago by Anantara Hotels and Resorts.
