Houston-based Avelo Airlines has unveiled plans today to commence operations from the Bayou City in June, offering exclusive nonstop flights from William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) to Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in Southern Connecticut.
With this new route set to take off, Avelo will stand as the sole carrier providing direct service between Houston and Connecticut.
Commencing June 14, Avelo will operate this route biweekly on Fridays and Mondays, utilizing Boeing Next Generation (NG) 737 aircraft. Introductory one-way fares starting at $98* between HOU and HVN are now available for booking at Aveloair.com. Currently, Avelo operates flights from Brownsville, Texas to Los Angeles and Orlando.
Establishing its Support Center in Houston in 2018, Avelo marked its inauguration in April 2021 with scheduled commercial service from its primary base at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR). Situated at Greenway Plaza, the Avelo Support Center accommodates around 230 Houston-based Crewmembers, encompassing the airline’s Operations Control Center, Customer Support Center, and various supporting functions like People (HR), marketing and communications, e-commerce, digital and IT, finance, pricing, and network planning.
