Azul Linhas Aéreas, a prominent Brazilian airline, has renewed its Airbus Flight Hour Services (FHS) agreements for its fleet of A320 and A330 aircraft, encompassing over 100 planes. These multi-year contracts operate on a maintenance-by-the-hour basis and include comprehensive component services such as local stock availability, pool access, and repair and engineering services for various rotable parts. With this arrangement, Azul gains from Airbus’ extensive engineering expertise and the support of local FHS representatives in Brazil.
Since its inception in 2008, Azul has emerged as one of Brazil’s leading airlines, flying to over 160 destinations across Brazil, the U.S., Europe, and South America. Azul was the pioneering Airbus FHS client in Latin America when it chose Airbus for its A320 fleet’s component services in 2016.
Airbus has a significant presence in Latin America and the Caribbean, having sold over 1,300 aircraft in these regions. It boasts a dominant market share of in-service passenger planes, with approximately 800 currently operational and about 500 pending delivery. Since 1994, Airbus has garnered 75% of net orders in Latin America. Additionally, Airbus supports 1,300 aircraft globally with FHS contracts.
