The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) wrapped up its promotional tour across three Indian cities from February 12th to February 16th, 2024. This tour, which made stops in Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Bangalore, was supported by the collaboration of 17 Bahraini entities, fostering significant engagement with local travel industry professionals.

This delegation, which included premier Destination Management Companies (DMCs), hotel representatives, and airline affiliates, centered its efforts on tapping into the Indian market. Through engaging in over 150 dedicated Business-to-Business (B2B) discussions, the BTEA effectively highlighted the rich variety of tourism attractions Bahrain has to offer to the Indian travel sector. The delegation also provided detailed presentations on Bahrain, showcasing its rich cultural heritage, adventurous activities, shopping venues, scenic spots, and relaxation opportunities.

Bahrain stands out as the only island getaway in the GCC area, often celebrated as the Arabian pearl, and is known for its beautiful coastlines, aquatic sports, and distinctive experiences like pearl diving. It is especially noted for being a safe destination for female travelers and offers a lively nightlife, making it an ideal four-day vacation spot for tourists from India.

Ms. Maryam Toorani, Director of Marketing and Promotions at Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) said “We are delighted with the overwhelming response received during our India roadshow. It was a testament to the growing interest and demand for Bahrain as a preferred destination among Indian travellers. Through strategic partnerships and collaborative efforts, we aim to significantly increase the number of visitors from various segments such as leisure, MICE, and weddings in the coming years.”

Following the success of the roadshow in India, the BTEA is set to employ new marketing approaches, broaden its promotional activities, and create bespoke travel experiences that align with the changing tastes of Indian tourists. With a strategy that marries innovation with collaborative efforts, the BTEA aims to distinguish Bahrain as a premier destination for Indian tourists, emphasizing its unique attractions and welcoming ambiance.
