BTEA shines at OTM 2024 in Mumbai, engaging India’s market with Bahrain’s rich tourism, winning ‘Best Design’ award & showcasing top partners.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) successfully participated for the first time since the pandemic in the 2024 Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in India, the leading travel expo in Asia. This significant event took place at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, from February 8-10, 2024, offering Bahrain a prime opportunity to connect with the Indian market, especially to enhance its presence in the MICE, wedding, and leisure sectors.
During the expo, spanning three days, BTEA’s team had productive discussions with India’s travel community, showcasing Bahrain as an attractive destination for vacations and events. The booth set up by BTEA was honored with the ‘Best Design and Decoration’ award at OTM 2024, reflecting their dedication to presenting Bahrain at its best.
Ms. Sally Sedky, Head of Tourism Marketing at Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), emphasized on India being a key market, said, “Participating in OTM 2024 enabled us to showcase Bahrain’s vibrant tourism offerings to the Indian market. Our interactions during the event with industry professionals and media have been essential in strengthening ties and elevating Bahrain’s position as a top choice for Indian travellers.”
BTEA brought together a group of 11 distinguished partners to highlight the varied tourist attractions in Bahrain. This team included notable entities such as Gulf Air, the national airline of Bahrain; Exhibition World Bahrain; and premium accommodations and resorts like The Gulf Hotel Bahrain, The K Hotel Bahrain, Lagoona Beach Luxury Resort and Spa, along with The Westin and Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain. Also included were leading Destination Management Companies (DMCs) like Caravan Travel and Tours, Vacanza Bahrain, Farhat Tours, Bahrain International Travel, and Best of Bahrain, showcasing the collaborative effort to promote Bahrain’s tourism potential.
