King Charles III has approved the order of a bank holiday at the Queen’s funeral. Queen’s holiday will be held on the 19th of September. The funeral will take place after 10 days of mourning.

It has previously been doubtful whether or not the bank holiday will be processed on not. Her highness’s funeral will be the last Royal funeral since 1965.

Charles III confirmed the public holiday in the ceremony. The funeral will be televised. This was the event where the king has been officially throned. The bank holiday will be observed in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

The original plans for the funeral were for the Queen’s coffin to process on a gun carriage which will be pulled by the naval ratings, and sailors. It will be pulled by ropes rather than the horses.

The head of the state, who is the prime minister and president, European Royals, and key figures in public life will be invited to gather in the abbey. The entire congregation can hold up to 2000.

On the same day as the funeral, the Queen’s coffin will be taken to St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle for a televised committal service.
The final resting place of Her Highness will be King George VI’s memorial chapel. This is an annexe to the main chapel. This is also a place where her mother and father have been buried. Her sister Princess Margaret’s ashes have also been buried here.
