The Barbican continues to expand its offerings as an exciting and inspiring venue for the creative industries, including prominent brands in the fashion sector.
Building on the success of 16Arlington’s fashion show during London Fashion Week 2024 at the Curve gallery, and with presentations by Roksanda and Supriya Lele during London Fashion Week 2023, the Barbican has established itself as a distinctive destination for prestigious fashion showcases, unveiling the latest collections.
Fashion labels have capitalized on the Barbican’s iconic venues, such as the striking Sculpture Court, the Curve gallery, and even a car park, to create captivating environments for their cutting-edge styles.
These events, extensively covered by mainstream fashion media, have attracted a diverse audience comprising esteemed designers, models, journalists, and fashion aficionados from around the world.

In December 2023, the Barbican hosted an exhibition featuring the original costumes from Yorgos Lanthimos’ Oscar-nominated film “Poor Things,” adorned by luminaries like Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, and Willem Dafoe, who also graced a gala screening of the film at the Centre. Curated by the Oscar-nominated costume designer Holly Waddington, who clinched the BAFTA for Best Costume Designer for “Poor Things,” the exhibition was a testament to the Barbican’s commitment to showcasing and celebrating creativity across various mediums.
