The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, a Thai government agency responsible for the preservation of the country’s aquatic treasures, presented the resort with a certificate of appreciation. Moreover, Trisara’s Chief Experience Officer, Panjama Leamsuwan, was awarded the prestigious ‘Rak Talay Ying Cheep’ (Saving the Sea) medal. This honour is given to those who have made outstanding contributions through their leadership in the protection of marine ecosystems and coastal habitats. This is establishing a haven on Phuket’s northwestern coast where upscale tourism and environmental conservation are in harmony.
The Evolution of the Marine Discovery Centre
Educational outreach is set to reach new heights with the upcoming inauguration of the Marine Discovery Centre. Scheduled for completion in 2027, this facility is being designed to bridge the existing gap between academic environmentalism and high-end hospitality. The surrounding habitats will be showcased to guests, providing an immersive platform where the intricacies of the local flora and fauna can be studied. By integrating nature preservation into the core guest experience, a deeper connection to the Thai coastline is fostered.
Within this centre, hands-on learning opportunities will be facilitated by the resort’s natural environment. The complex dynamics of the Andaman Sea’s reefs and seagrass beds are to be explored through interactive exhibits and expert-led programmes. It is envisioned that by 2027, the Marine Discovery Centre will serve as a cornerstone for sustainable tourism in Southeast Asia, ensuring that the beauty of Phuket is not merely consumed by visitors but understood and protected by them.
Guardians of the Mai Khao Sea Turtles
The protection of the local sea turtle population has been a primary focus since 2016, through a formal collaboration with the Mai Khao Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Declaration. Since the inception of this partnership, a total of 449 hatchlings have been successfully supported during their release into the Andaman Sea. The resort’s beachfront has become a critical site for the survival of the species; in 2018, it was selected by two green turtles for nesting. Since that pivotal year, eight nests have been established by the pair, signifying the health and safety of the shoreline.
Ongoing efforts are being directed toward maintaining the pristine condition of the beach. These measures are taken to ensure that mother turtles are encouraged to return for nesting in the upcoming years. The sand quality, light pollution levels, and physical obstructions are all managed with scientific precision to cater to the sensitive requirements of these ancient marine travellers. By prioritizing the needs of the turtles, the resort ensures that its 1,400-metre private coastline remains a functional part of the regional biological corridor.
Connecting the Coral to the Canopy
In 2024, a new dimension of environmental engagement was introduced through the ‘Nature Discovery: Coral to Canopy’ programme. These curated experiences are led by the resort’s dedicated sustainability team, which is currently headed by Sustainability Manager Khun Aorn. Through this initiative, the local ecosystem is made accessible to guests via weekly intimate activities. For instance, beach walks are conducted every Monday and Thursday, during which the fascinating lives of hermit crabs, the importance of coral structures, and the history of the natural landscape are detailed through storytelling.
The resort itself, whose name is derived from a Sanskrit phrase meaning “The Garden in the Third Heaven”, is situated on a 14-hectare plot of protected forest. This lush canopy provides a stark, beautiful contrast to the azure waters of the Andaman. From the vibrant life found within the reefs to the diverse avian species inhabiting the trees, the entire spectrum of Phuket’s biodiversity is encompassed within the property’s boundaries.
Architectural Grandeur and Holistic Wellness
Accommodations at Trisara Phuket are designed to complement the natural topography. The resort features 39 individual pool villas and suites, with dimensions ranging from 1,453 to 3,229 square feet. For larger groups or those seeking more expansive privacy, 25 residential villas are offered, featuring layouts of two to ten bedrooms and reaching sizes of up to 86,607 square feet. An ocean view or direct ocean frontage is provided for every unit, ensuring that the sea is a constant presence in the guest experience.

Classes in yoga and Thai boxing are regularly scheduled, while the adventurous can engage in windsurfing, sailing, and snorkelling.
