BigPay TravelEasy: Your worry-free travel partner with tune protect

BigPay, the prominent finance app in Southeast Asia, has unveiled its latest product, BigPay TravelEasy—a comprehensive travel insurance underwritten by Tune Protect Malaysia (“Tune Protect”). Effective immediately, BigPay users can easily apply for travel insurance directly within the BigPay app, streamlining the application process to just a few minutes.

As BigPay continues to enrich its range of services with a primary emphasis on enhancing the traveler payment experience, the introduction of BigPay TravelEasy underscores the importance of securing travel insurance while ensuring the purchase is both convenient and cost-effective. Earlier this year, BigPay introduced its DuitNow Cross-Border QR Payment, enabling Malaysians to make payments in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and, most recently, China through Alipay and Alipay+ merchants.

Zubin Rada Krishnan, Group CEO of BigPay, expresses enthusiasm about offering customers the convenience, simplicity, and affordability of travel insurance through BigPay TravelEasy, powered by Tune Protect. He emphasizes that purchasing travel insurance is often overlooked, and with TravelEasy, users can easily and efficiently get coverage whenever they have a few spare minutes before their journey. Beyond wallet top-ups and spending through VISA cards or cross-border QR, Krishnan emphasizes that BigPay is dedicated to providing travelers with peace of mind while abroad.

Offering worldwide coverage with plans starting from RM35 for international trips, BigPay users can obtain insurance for accidents, unexpected medical expenses, and travel inconveniences such as loss of baggage and travel delays. Through the BigPay app, users can follow a straightforward five-step process to apply for TravelEasy insurance:

1. Open the BigPay app and tap “Insurance” under “Utilities”
2. Tap “TravelEasy – Individual”
3. Tap “Get a quote”
4. Fill in your travel details
5. Pick your plan and check out

The launch of BigPay TravelEasy is made possible in collaboration with Senang.io, the insurtech partner of BigPay. In October 2023, BigPay announced its integration on the airasia superapp, enabling seamless travel booking payments for flights, hotels, and more directly through BigPay on the platform.
