SalamAir, Oman’s budget carrier, starts selling tickets for its new Copenhagen, Denmark route via Baghdad. The inaugural flight will be on November 14, 2026. The route will be SalamAir’s low-cost service for travel between Oman and Denmark. This service will give new international travel opportunities to Oman and Denmark.

The new service will operate under fifth-freedom traffic rights on the Baghdad–Copenhagen sector, creating a new air connection linking Oman, Iraq and Denmark. Passengers travelling from Muscat will be able to reach Copenhagen through a scheduled stop in Baghdad, while travellers in Iraq will have the option to book direct flights between Baghdad and the Danish capital.

One-way Lite fares will start from OMR 130.99 for journeys between Muscat and Copenhagen via Baghdad, while fares on the Baghdad–Copenhagen segment will begin at OMR 99.99. The new route is expected to improve affordable international travel options while supporting growing demand from leisure travellers, business passengers and those visiting friends and relatives.

The service will also strengthen tourism, commercial links and cultural exchanges between the Middle East and Northern Europe by providing a new travel connection between the regions.

The launch of Copenhagen represents another milestone in SalamAir’s expanding European network. By extending its Baghdad operations to Denmark, the airline aims to open access to previously underserved markets, attract new passenger demand and offer travellers from Copenhagen and the wider Northern European region improved connectivity to Oman and other destinations across its network.

Commenting on the announcement, Steven Allen, Chief Commercial Officer of SalamAir, said: “Copenhagen is the ninth new destination added to SalamAir’s network for 2026, reflecting the pace of our expansion and our focus on developing commercially promising markets. Operating twice weekly, the service creates an important new connection between Oman, Iraq and Northern Europe, serving demand between Baghdad and Copenhagen while offering travellers more affordable options to and from Oman. It will also generate new passenger flows across our network and create further opportunities for tourism, trade and business exchange, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.” 

Renowned for its unique architecture, vibrant waterfront areas, rich cultural experiences and strong business landscape, Copenhagen attracts both leisure and corporate travellers throughout the year. As a key gateway to Scandinavia, the city will help enhance access to Oman’s tourism experiences while allowing travellers from Denmark and surrounding markets to connect more easily with SalamAir’s expanding network.
