Blue jays-Manchester & red sox-Greenville: A sports city collaboration

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is thrilled to announce the introduction of Avelo Airlines’ new twice-weekly flights to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) starting from May 10, 2024. Additionally, Avelo is set to increase its service frequency to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) from twice to four times weekly beginning May 2, 2024. “We are deeply appreciative of Avelo’s ongoing dedication to serving New Hampshire, marked by the launch of a direct flight to Greenville-Spartanburg and the augmentation of flights to Raleigh-Durham,” remarked Ted Kitchens, A.A.E., the Airport Director. “This expansion is a testament to the strong support from the communities in Raleigh and Manchester for Avelo’s initial service, underscoring the importance of similar support for the new Greenville-Spartanburg route. Such support is vital for fostering a robust partnership with Avelo Airlines and encouraging further travel opportunities for Manchester and New Hampshire residents.”

This new route celebrates the unfolding of new leisure and business travel prospects for Upstate South Carolina’s travelers to the Manchester-Boston area.”

Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais expressed enthusiasm about Avelo Airlines’ expansion at MHT, stating, “Avelo’s budget-friendly flights to Greenville and Raleigh not only offer our community more travel options but also contribute to regional economic growth. The connections between Manchester and Raleigh, as well as Manchester and Greenville, are rooted in shared histories of textile industries, downtown revitalizations, and hosting minor league baseball teams—Manchester for the the Toronto Blue Jays representing Manchester and the Boston Red Sox associated with Greenville. This service is bound to be warmly embraced by the people of Manchester and the wider Granite State.”

Flights to Greenville will operate on Mondays and Fridays, while the Raleigh service will run on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Avelo stands out as the sole airline providing nonstop flights from New Hampshire to both Greenville, South Carolina, and Raleigh, North Carolina. These routes will be serviced by Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.

Avelo made its debut as the newest airline at MHT on June 21, 2023, marking the beginning of its service expansion.
