The iconic Blue Water Cay Marina Resort in The Bahamas has reached a key milestone in the progression of its cutting-edge marina development. This week marks the beginning of the steel framework construction for the Dry Storage Facility, an essential part of the resort’s extensive expansion strategy.
Designed to withstand Category 5 hurricane winds, the Dry Storage Facility boasts a robust foundation. Over 300 auger-cast piles, each 16 inches in diameter and reaching more than 40 feet deep into solid bedrock, are being used to support the structure. These deep foundations ensure that the weight of the boats, along with the wind forces acting on the building, are safely distributed through the foundation and into the earth. Some columns are supported by as many as five auger-cast piles, forming a highly durable foundation system for the facility.
“At Legendary Marina Resort, Blue Water Cay, we are dedicated to providing the finest marina facilities anywhere. The erection of the Dry Storage Facility is a milestone that represents the culmination of years of permitting, design, fabrication, and now, construction,” said Rodney Chamberlain, Lead Developer of Legendary Marina Resort Blue Water Cay.
By integrating cutting-edge design principles with an unwavering commitment to quality, a truly innovative dry storage building has been established at Blue Water Cay.
Legendary remains devoted to offering top-tier marina services, and the development of the Dry Storage Facility stands as a powerful reflection of this dedication.
