In 2025, one of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ vessels, Bolette, is set to embark on its inaugural around-the-world journey as part of the ‘Voyage of Exploration Around the World,’ commencing in January. The 106-night epic voyage will traverse diverse destinations, including Brazil, Chile, French Polynesia, Australia, and South Africa, among others.

This extraordinary expedition promises encounters with iconic southern hemisphere landmarks like Sydney’s Harbour and Opera House, the enigmatic Moai statues on Easter Island, and South Africa’s Table Mountain and Signal Hill. Noteworthy highlights include witnessing the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, marveling at natural wonders like Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Chilean Fjords, immersing in Latin American culture with tango in Argentina, and observing wildlife such as Magellan penguins.

The journey further unfolds with the allure of Bora Bora and Tonga, alongside visits to Australia’s Blue Mountains and other iconic landmarks. The concluding leg ventures into Africa and the Indian Ocean, presenting opportunities to spot the Big Five in South Africa and explore the remote island of St Helena in the South Atlantic.

Guests can enjoy enticing perks, including up to £600 per person to spend on board or complimentary door-to-door transfers covering up to 250 mainland miles from the port. Bolette’s 106-night T2502 ‘A Voyage of Exploration Around the World’ cruise departs from Southampton on January 6, 2025, with prices starting from £12,499 per person.

Martin Lister, Head of Itinerary Planning and Destination Experience at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“This extra special voyage for Bolette’sfirst world cruise has been hand-crafted by our team of Journey Planners to enable our guests to sail in the wake of famous historical explorers and will follow a similar route to the first world circumnavigation by Magellan and Elcano in 1519.

“It will also cruise the south coast of Australia as British navigator Matthew Flinders did in 1801, and will call into places visited by the likes of Captain James Cook and Alexander Selkirk – the Scottish sailor who was the inspiration for Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe novel.

“Guests will be able to witness some of the world’s most impressive vistas, experience diverse culture and encounter wildlife as well as explore some of the lesser known and less frequently visited gems like Robinson Crusoe Island.”

Highlights of the itinerary encompass exploring the untouched landscapes of Robinson Crusoe Island, witnessing the iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and embarking on a safari in search of the Big Five in Africa. The extensive journey includes stops at various captivating locations, such as Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Valparaiso, Bora-Bora, Sydney, Fremantle, Cape Town, Walvis Bay, St Helena, Dakar, and many more, before returning to Southampton, UK.
