By the sudden downfall of Francis Scott Key Bridge on Tuesday, along Interstate 695 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, travel industry is being affected heavily because of this.

Drivers were instantly requested to take alternate routes through the city, after the mishap happened early morning. What’s less comprehensible is what this collapse incident of bridge may signify for the impending cruises in and out of Baltimore.

Vessel traffic getting inside and going out of the Port of Baltimore has been postponed until additional notice, the Port of Baltimore posted yesterday on X, formerly Twitter.

Rep. Kweisi Mfume, D-Md., whose district comprises the bridge and the port, termed the breakdown an “unthinkable horror” and explained that he had spoken with Pete Buttigieg, Transportation Secretary and the White House right away.

He stated in a statement that they are answering with all of the assets at their disposal. Now, their prayers are for the missing individuals and the wounded of this disaster. He added that they thank God for the active service of their first responders.

To dodge the distorted bridge, now drivers can take Interstate 95 or Interstate 895 alternatively. But Maryland Transportation Authority records there are some exclusions. At present, vehicles carrying dangerous materials are not allowed in the tunnels.
