Scott and Krista Davies of Arcata are excited to introduce Ridgefield, Humboldt County’s latest wedding destination. This new venue not only offers couples a beautiful place to marry amid ancient Redwoods but also emphasizes ecological conservation. The Davies have donated 75 acres of Redwood forest to be preserved as a conservation easement.

Ridgefield spans an 80-acre property, providing a stunning environment with Redwoods that are over 2,000 years old, creating a perfect setting for weddings that celebrate both love and nature. The property’s conservation easement is adjacent to the Arcata Community Forest, which has earned recognition for its sustainable forestry management, being the first city forest to be awarded SmartWood certification.

Scott Davies commented on the launch, “We are delighted to host couples who value nature as deeply as we do and choose to celebrate their special day in our unique, eco-friendly venue.”

This generous forest donation is part of the Davies’ broader initiative to protect the local ecosystem and support community-driven efforts in Arcata, thus reinforcing their commitment to environmental stewardship and local prosperity.

Scott Davies further emphasizes, “By aligning with SmartWood standards accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council®, we ensure that our conservation efforts uphold the highest industry benchmarks, preserving not only the beauty of our forest but also its ecological integrity.”
