Changi Airport Group has recently introduced Changi Carbon Offsets. This would give passengers a suitable option to counterbalance the carbon emissions from their air travel, irrespective of the airline that they are availing to travel. With the help of an in-built carbon calculator on the Changi Airport website which is – carbon offsets.
changiairport.com and Changi App, passengers now can easily analyze the carbon emissions from their impending flights on the basis of the origin, destination and class of travel. Next, they will be provided with the option to counterbalance from their journey the emissions by making used of their credit card for payment.
CAG has designated few first-rate carbon offset projects, which would have an important effect on the communities and environment. This was done in collaboration with a New Zealand-based carbon offset company with the name-Carbon Clicks. These designated projects will aid in conserving and safeguarding the current Indonesian forest areas, plant forests in China, along with providing wind power generation in India.
The introduction of Changi Carbon Offsets is the recent effort that CAG is taking along its sustainability journey to lessen carbon emissions. Also, CAG is working closely with the airport community to progress with the energy efficiency of the buildings and operations of the airport.
