Croatia Airlines Unveils Expanded International Routes and Summer Flight Schedule at ITB Travel Trade Show

Croatia Airlines takes center stage at the ITB Trade Travel Show in Berlin, joining forces with the Croatian National Tourist Board and 20 co-exhibitors. At this prestigious travel fair, the national carrier showcases its latest offerings, including this summer’s flight timetable, set to enhance connectivity and travel experiences.

The highlight of Croatia Airlines’ presentation is the planned expansion of its international flight network from Zagreb and Split, reflecting a 6 percent increase in flights during the peak season compared to last year.

Zagreb Airport emerges as a pivotal hub with the introduction of new direct routes to Tirana, Berlin, and Stockholm. The Zagreb-Tirana route operates twice weekly on Fridays and Sundays, offering return tickets from 139 euros. Meanwhile, the Zagreb-Berlin and Zagreb-Stockholm routes are set to fly three times a week, providing affordable return fares starting from 149 euros and 159 euros respectively.

During the upcoming tourist season, Croatia Airlines will connect Zagreb directly with 18 international destinations, spanning Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Vienna, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Mostar, Munich, Paris, Rome, Sarajevo, Skopje, Stockholm, Tirana, and Zurich.

In another exciting development, Croatia Airlines introduces direct flights between Split and Istanbul, operating thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Passengers can secure return tickets from 179 euros, further enriching Split Airport’s international connections.

Additionally, the airline plans to reintroduce seasonal flights on the Split-Oslo and Split-Skopje routes, expanding connectivity to 21 international destinations or 22 airports during the summer season.

Dubrovnik Airport also gains prominence with direct international flights to Athens, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, and Zurich, alongside domestic flights to Zagreb and Osijek.

Moreover, Croatia Airlines continues its year-round operations on the Rijeka-Munich and Osijek-Munich routes, solidifying its commitment to seamless travel experiences across Croatia and beyond.

In addition to enhancing its international flight network, Croatia Airlines maintains its commitment to connect Croatia’s cities and regions through scheduled domestic flights, serving 7 Croatian airports including Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Pula, Osijek, and Bol on the island of Brač.

During the forthcoming tourist season, Croatia Airlines intends to connect Croatia with 28 international destinations or 29 European airports via 50 international routes. With over 17,200 flights and more than 2,000,000 available seats, the airline anticipates a robust season ahead.

The commencement of flights on select seasonal routes is slated for late March, significantly earlier than the previous year, with operations extending until October 2024. This early start aims to extend Croatia’s tourist season, a contribution vital to the country’s tourism sector.

Midyear heralds the arrival of Croatia Airlines’ first new A220 aircraft, marking the onset of fleet renewal with technologically advanced planes in the 100 to 150-seat market segment. The Airbus A220 boasts cutting-edge engines, reducing noise by half per seat, lowering fuel burn and CO2 emissions by 25%, and cutting nitrogen oxide emissions by 40%. Passengers can expect enhanced comfort, including internet access, mobile phone chargers (USB A and USB C) at each seat, and upgraded cabin amenities.

Aligned with market demand for air travel services, Croatia Airlines adapts its network of international and domestic flights to strengthen Croatia’s tourism product and improve the country’s transport infrastructure. Through expanded destinations and increased flight frequencies, the national carrier plays a pivotal role in fostering Croatia’s tourism industry.
