Michel Roux brings his Le Gavroche residencies to sea with Cunard in 2024, offering exclusive culinary experiences on Queen Anne and Queen Mary 2.

This year, Cunard is set to reintroduce a unique array of Le Gavroche sea residencies, headlined by Michel Roux, the two-star Michelin chef famed for his renowned London eatery. In a significant move, Roux will momentarily shut down his acclaimed Mayfair restaurant to supervise four distinct Le Gavroche sea residencies aboard the Queen Anne and Queen Mary 2 during a series of mesmerizing Fjords journeys in 2024.

In collaboration with the Norwegian Seafood Council, the first of these residencies will debut at The Verandah on Cunard’s flagship, Queen Mary 2. The journey to Hardangerfjord commences on June 2, featuring a five-night gastronomic event. Each evening, 60 diners will have the opportunity to indulge in Roux’s exceptional seafood creations and time-honored culinary delights, at an extra cost. The experience promises a five-course tasting menu, rich in oceanic flavors and crafted from premium ingredients.

The culinary adventure continues with Roux hosting a second stint on the Queen Mary 2 for a roundtrip voyage to the Hamburg Fjords, scheduled for August 6. Later that month, Roux will present another exclusive, five-night culinary event at Sir Samuel’s aboard Cunard’s latest vessel, Queen Anne. This voyage, setting sail for Stavanger in Norway on August 11, will offer an intimate dining experience for 50 guests each night.

Roux’s series of residencies will culminate with another Norwegian engagement on the Queen Anne, embarking on September 1 towards Haugesund. Additionally, during these voyages, Roux will grace the Royal Court Theatre as an Insights Speaker, sharing anecdotes and experiences from his distinguished career spanning over four decades in the hospitality sector.

Further enhancing Cunard’s culinary offerings, Roux is also set to craft an exclusive gala menu for the Queens Grill and Princess Grill on the Queen Anne, alongside a refined Golden Lion menu, featuring sophisticated pub classics for the ship’s patrons.

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, said: “We are incredibly honored to exclusively host Le Gavroche at sea and continue our exciting partnership with Michel Roux. Just as Roux sets the bar for fine dining, we at Cunard set the bar for luxury ocean travel, and his innovative approach to celebrating traditional Norwegian cuisine perfectly aligns with our dedication to offering guests unforgettable and culturally rich experiences.”

Michel Roux added: “It is an absolute privilege to bring Le Gavroche to Cunard’s Queens, reuniting with their hugely talented and passionate culinary development chefs as we strive to create menus inspired by the treasures of Norwegian cuisine. The culinary heritage of Norway is a tapestry of flavors, and together with Cunard, I look forward to weaving these elements into an extraordinary dining experience at Sir Samuel’s and The Verandah. My ongoing partnership with the Norwegian Seafood Council allows us to ensure every dish tells a story of the nation’s natural beauty.”
