Czech Republic signs LOA for 5th generation F-35 Lightning II airplane

The administration of the Czech Republic inked a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA), making its purpose official to obtain 24 Lockheed Martin 5th Generation F-35 Lightning II airplane. With the help of the U.S. government Foreign Military Sale, the Czech Air Force will obtain its first airplane in 2031, which would happen in the newest cutting-edge Block 4 arrangement.

Mike Schmidt, the U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen., program executive officer, F-35 Joint Program Office said that they are happy that the administration of the Czech Republic is now formally a part of the F-35 Lightning II program of record. He said that this association with the Czech Ministry of Defence will provide and endure the F-35 airplane for decades, while delivering the Czech Air Force with unsurpassed interoperability and guaranteeing that it has the ability to withstand present and forthcoming pressures.

Along with the airplane, the gaining also comprises preparation of staffs, facility and logistical upkeep, and increasing other support provisions confirming fruitful necessities of all 24 F-35s.

Bridget Lauderdale, Lockheed Martin’s vice president and general manager of the F-35 program said that with the inking of the Letter of Offer and Acceptance concerning the Czech Republic and U.S. administrations, the Czech Republic becomes the 18th country to join the international F-35 program. Lauderdale said that they are privileged to associate with the Czech Republic Air Force as its F-35s connect with other European countries toward reinforcing and increasing interoperability, considerably growing NATO’s restraining proficiency.
