Western Railway Adds More Festive Season Train Options With Four Special Services Extended Till November 2026

Western Railway has extended four special trains for Mumbai-Gujarat sectors until November 2026. It is to provide additional passenger services during the festive season and off season. These will operate from Bhuj and Veraval and provide connectivity to Mumbai via bandra terminus. Services will be offered as per demand during the peak travel season. Passengers can now plan their journey during the season as per their convenience.

Western Railway has announced the continuation of four special-fare train services between Gujarat and Mumbai until November 2026 as passenger demand is expected to rise during the festive travel season.

The extended services will provide additional connectivity between Bhuj, Veraval and Bandra Terminus, helping passengers access more travel options during the busy holiday period. Reservations for these special trains will open from September 23, 2026.

The extended schedule covers weekly and twice-weekly operations, depending on the route. The services will remain available throughout October and November, when railway networks usually experience higher passenger movement due to festivals, vacations and increased regional travel.

Bhuj Mumbai Special Trains Receive Additional Trips

Western Railway has extended three special train services operating between Bhuj and Bandra Terminus to support increased travel requirements.

The 09038/09037 Bhuj–Bandra Terminus–Bhuj Special will continue running twice every week from October 1 until November 29, 2026. The extended operation will include 18 trips, creating additional travel opportunities between the Kutch region and Mumbai.

The 09010/09009 Bhuj–Bandra Terminus–Bhuj Special will continue with a weekly schedule from October 4 to November 30, 2026. The service will operate for nine additional trips during this period.

Another Bhuj–Bandra Terminus–Bhuj Special train, numbered 09012/09011, has also received an extension. It will operate weekly between October 6 and November 25, 2026, with eight trips planned under the revised timetable.

These extended services will offer greater flexibility for passengers travelling between Gujarat and Mumbai during the peak festive period. The additional trips are expected to provide more options for travellers from Kutch and surrounding areas.

Veraval Bandra Terminus Train Service Gets Extension

The special train service connecting Veraval and Bandra Terminus has also been extended as part of the festive season travel arrangements.

The 09018/09017 Veraval–Bandra Terminus–Veraval Special will continue operating once a week from October 4 to November 30, 2026. The extended schedule includes nine trips.

The service will support passengers travelling between the Saurashtra region and Mumbai, improving availability during a period when demand for long-distance rail journeys typically increases.

All four train pairs will operate under the special-fare category during their extended runs. Passengers are advised to check schedules, availability and applicable fares before making travel plans.

Online And Counter Booking Opens From September 23

Ticket reservations for the extended special train services will begin on September 23, 2026.

Passengers will be able to book seats through railway Passenger Reservation System counters as well as online platforms, including the official IRCTC website and mobile application.

The extended services will make festive travel planning easier for passengers moving between Gujarat and Mumbai. With additional trips added across important routes, travellers from Kutch, Saurashtra and nearby regions will have more choices for reaching Mumbai during the high-demand season.

The extension of these trains shows that demand for such services is high and that more trains are needed to meet the requirements of the passengers during peak travel times. In the interest of the passengers, particularly during peak travel times like the festive seasons, these special trains will be run up to November, 2026 by the Western Railway.
