Dakshina Kannada hospitality waits for tax rebate

For children of all working mothers in village areas, Dakshina Kannada district is all set build up a total of 33 Koosina Mane crèches.

The government had declared the effort by mentioning that across the state of Karnatak, it will open 4,000 ‘Koosina Mane’ creches. The main target is to offer support to the childcare for women enrolled under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act along with other mothers who are working in some way or the other.


The CEO, zilla panchayat, Anand K, informed TOI that the officials are investigating for appropriate places to build up such creches. The effort is aiming to improve the participation of women labor force, reallocate the burden of childcare from women, thereby improving their aptitude to connect in terms of better work; promote employment of women and lastly, offer enhanced child care to their children, he stated.


Koosina Mane facilities are probably to be set up in building which are government-owned like panchayat buildings, community halls, or any other infrastructure that has open space as well as secure.


The assistant district project coordinator, Kishan Rao BS, said that the aim will be on areas where a maximum of the beneficiaries inhabit and connect with community work.
