As temperatures rise, the anticipation for ice cream season is palpable among Minnesotans. It’s the period when the community gets a chance to participate in the much-awaited “Flavor of the Fair” voting. Midwest Dairy, representing over 4,000 farming households across the Midwest, invites all ice cream aficionados to engage in selecting the next ice cream flavor to grace the 2024 Minnesota State Fair. From April 5 to April 19, enthusiasts have the opportunity to vote for their favorite among three enticing flavor candidates. The chosen flavor will be exclusively available at the Dairy Goodness Bar situated in the Dairy Building during this year’s celebrated Great Minnesota Get-Together.
The trio of malt and sundae contenders includes:
Boba ‘Sota: A delightful temptation featuring brown sugar boba pearls and syrup paired with vanilla, offering a comforting and sweet embrace for your palate.
Chamango Chill: A bold fusion of vanilla, mango, and chamoy, enhanced with a sprinkle of Tajín for those craving a sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy adventure.
Rockstar-berry: A harmonious mix of fruity rice cereal, strawberries, and vanilla, promising a sensational experience of contrasting textures and flavors that dance on the tongue.
The previous year saw Cheers for Cherries taking the crown, joining the ranks of past victors like “Key Lime Crumble” (2022), “You Betcha Berry” (2020), “Birthday Batter Blast” (2019), “That’s S’More Like It” (2018), “Pie in the Sky” (2017), “Call it Breakfast” (2016), and “Salted Caramel Puff” (2015) as a fan favorite at the fair.
Dairy enthusiasts are invited to cast their votes for the Flavor of the Fair at MidwestDairy.com/MNFair until April 19. Participants are also encouraged to share their chosen flavor on social media using the hashtag #DairyGoodnessFlavor. The victorious flavor will be revealed in the upcoming months, adding another chapter to the fair’s delicious history.
