Jazz, Funk, and Hip-Hop Fusion: The Soul Rebels Set to Captivate Global Travelers Across the US

The Soul Rebels, a dynamic brass ensemble from New Orleans celebrated for their unique fusion of jazz, funk, and hip-hop, unveiled their eagerly awaited tour dates for spring. The tour will take them to 11 cities, starting on May 3 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, followed by shows across the United States. Highlighted performances in Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and New York City will feature collaborations with iconic musicians such as Ghostface Killah, GZA, Talib Kweli, Seun Kuti, Fred Wesley, and Marcus Miller.

Commenting on the upcoming tour, The Soul Rebels’ manager, Alex Kurland, emphasized their commitment to working with the best in the industry. “When The Soul Rebels collaborate, it is with highly respected and iconic artists,” said Kurland. “Whether it’s projects with the Wu Tang Clan, Nas, Branford Marsalis, Metallica, Robert Glasper, DMX or Katy Perry, The Soul Rebels aim to push musical boundaries and celebrate the richness of their artistic expression.”

A highlight of the tour will be an exclusive performance on June 19 at the Ardmore Music Hall, situated near Philadelphia in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. This concert, aligning with Juneteenth—a day commemorating the abolition of slavery in the United States—will star legendary artists Marcus Miller and Fred Wesley.

On June 20, The Soul Rebels are set to captivate audiences at The Howard Theatre in Washington, DC. This one-night event will see them joining forces with hip-hop legends Ghostface Killah and GZA, promising a memorable night of groundbreaking music in one of the city’s most revered venues.

The tour will then move to New York City, where The Soul Rebels and Ghostface Killah will undertake a three-night residency at the Blue Note from June 21 to June 23. These performances are poised to showcase the ensemble’s versatility and the extent of their collaboration with one of hip-hop’s most revered lyricists.
