Denver International Airport (DEN) proudly announced surpassing its revenue targets for the Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBE) for Fiscal Year 2023. The rental car sector of ACDBE achieved a notable 7.87 percent, surpassing the target by 6.17 percent, while non-rental car services saw a remarkable achievement of 38.96 percent, exceeding the goal by 11.36 percent.
“I’m proud that DEN’s ACDBE program continues to outperform our federal goals,” said DEN CEO Phil Washington. “Creating and ensuring equity in how small businesses compete for contracts is central to how we do business at DEN. We’ve grown our program considerably over the last few years and are continuing to create new opportunities for disadvantaged businesses to launch and grow at DEN.”
For the federal fiscal year 2022, DEN also surpassed its business contracting objectives set by the federal government, with a success rate of 31.95 percent. This achievement marks a significant milestone, as ACDBE concessions business revenue reached an all-time high over the past six years, exceeding $230 million.
The ACDBE Program, backed by the federal government, aims to ensure equal opportunities for small businesses in airport contracting. DEN establishes its ACDBE goals every three years, with approval from the FAA. These goals are designed to bridge the gap between the current participation level of minority and women-owned firms in transportation projects and the anticipated level of participation in the absence of historical and current discrimination.
