As per the current schedule, the initial of six A350 aircraft will be integrated into Edelweiss’ operations by early April 2025. Ahead of its deployment on long-haul routes, the aircraft will undergo service on various short and medium-haul routes during the initial weeks.

The inaugural long-haul destinations for Edelweiss with the Airbus A350 are Las Vegas and Vancouver.

Las Vegas will be the debut long-haul route for Edelweiss utilizing the Airbus A350. Starting from mid-May 2025, the aircraft is set to operate three times weekly on this route. Additionally, the Zurich-Vancouver-Zurich route will witness daily service once the second Airbus A350 commences operations at the start of July 2025.

The third Airbus A350 is scheduled to join Edelweiss’ fleet at the onset of October 2025. Following that, the fourth A350 will be incorporated in winter 2025, with aircraft numbers five and six following suit in the latter half of 2026.

Tickets for long-haul flights aboard Edelweiss’ Airbus A350 can be reserved starting from mid-May 2024, accessible via flyedelweiss.com and all conventional sales platforms.

Airbus A350: A Sustainable and Cost-Efficient Aircraft

Edelweiss is acquiring six Airbus A350-900 aircraft renowned for their high efficiency and low emissions. By mid-2027, these new A350s will replace the existing five Airbus A340-300 long-haul aircraft, restoring Edelweiss’ long-haul fleet to its pre-coronavirus level of six aircraft.

The design of the Airbus A350 establishes new benchmarks in efficiency, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and exceptional aerodynamics. It stands as one of the most environmentally friendly long-haul aircraft globally. Equipped with the latest engine generation and utilizing lightweight materials, the twin-engine Airbus A350-900 boasts remarkable fuel efficiency, consuming 25% less fuel and consequently emitting 25% less CO2 compared to the four-engine Airbus A340-300 it replaces. Moreover, noise emissions are reduced by up to 50%.
