Edinburgh Airport is gearing up for its busiest Easter yet, with over 170,000 passengers anticipated over the holiday weekend. As Scotland’s airport readies itself for the surge, travelers are eager to embark on getaways, reconnect with loved ones, and explore Scotland’s finest offerings.

From Friday, March 29 to Monday, April 1, an estimated 89,000 passengers will depart from the airport, while more than 83,000 will arrive in the capital city. Popular destinations for outbound travelers include London, Paris, Dublin, Belfast, and Amsterdam, alongside sought-after holiday spots like Tenerife and Alicante.

The commencement of the airport’s summer schedule on Sunday heralds the return of various flights, such as those to Washington D.C. with United and New York JFK with Delta Air Lines.

Passengers are advised to arrive promptly for their airline’s check-in desk opening and to adhere to security regulations, including the 100ml liquid limit and removing large electronics like laptops and tablets from their carry-on bags.

Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport said:

“There’s always a buzz during Easter weekend and we look forward to welcoming the tens of thousands of passengers travelling to the airport from across Scotland and beyond each day, whether it be to take a well-earned break in the sun, see a new city, or visit family they haven’t seen in a while.

“It’s also a time of year many people take the opportunity to visit Edinburgh to see what our fabulous city has to offer, and journey onwards to experience the very best of Scotland. We’re proud to be the gateway for that.

“All of this is possible thanks to our brilliant staff who will be keeping things moving throughout the weekend, and ensuring everyone gets to where they need to be.”
