The tourism reliant nation, Thailand, finally sets out to operate eight new airlines.

Due to COVID, Thailand’s economy was in terrible shape, but it is currently slowly getting better. Nearly 35 million foreign visitors are anticipated to visit the country as a result of the opening of new airlines.

From medium-to-long haul international routes, Really Cool Airlines has scheduled to offer services for the same. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Thailand’s Transport Minister, has provided approval for the operator licences relating to the new airlines.

The airlines that will begin its operations this year are Asian Aerospace Service, Pattaya Airways, Avanti Air Sarter, Siam Seaplane and Asia Atlantic Airlines.
Additionally, the carriers have been given permission to import a total of sixty aircraft.

The tourism industry in Thailand, which is the most visited country in Southeast Asia, has been affected by the pandemic. Even the passengers who were on international flights from all around the world dropped by 95 percent back in September 2021.

In addition, the new operators will be effective in competing with carriers such as Thai Airways International Pcl and Asia Aviation Pcl.

In March, Patee Sarasin, the founder of Really Cool Airlines and a former CEO of low-cost airline Nok Airlines Pcl, will start offering chartered flights.

Thailand is a historically Buddhist country that brims with mountains, jungles, islands, and cities bustles with innumerable spirit houses and temples, which makes it popular among tourists. Nonetheless, as a result of COVID, fewer foreign visitors have arrived. The flight services also diminished.

Alongside these, there have been the addition of five new airlines. They have moved into the Thai air market in 2024 after the CAAT or the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, went on to issue them the Air Operating Licenses, or AOL.

In addition to the discrepancy in ensuing global economic issues and challenges relating to air travel.

Due to lower traffic than nearby markets, long-haul travelers to Thailand have been impacted, particularly those from European markets. Because stays in markets that travel frequently are typically longer, spending tends to be higher.
