At a seminar titled “Tourism and Hospitality, A Civilized Message or Just Money and Business?” organized by the Green Tent, speakers emphasized the significance of boosting inter-Arab tourism to bolster national economies. They advocated for the development of related programs, enhancement of technological infrastructure, road construction, and an increase in hotel accommodations. Additionally, they stressed the importance of showcasing the environmental, cultural, industrial, and commercial diversity within Arab nations. This involves crafting marketing strategies that are in tune with contemporary trends and accessible to diverse social strata across various languages, aiming to elevate Arab tourism’s global standing.

The seminar saw participation from a wide array of global experts, activists, and academics, who discussed tourism’s evolution into a major force driving multiple industries and crafts, noting that some countries rely heavily on tourism. Dr. Saif bin Ali Al Hajari, the seminar’s director, highlighted Qatar’s rich tourist offerings, including its unique flora and fauna, robust infrastructure, global road network, parks, advanced technology services, high-speed internet, and worldwide airline connections. These elements, he noted, significantly support entrepreneurs looking to invest and advance the tourism sector.

Furthermore, the seminar elucidated that the natural and constructed tourist attractions in the Arab world lay a solid foundation for the sector’s growth. The region’s distinctiveness and rich historical legacy position it competitively in the global travel market. Mohammed Hashim Al Sharif, coordinating Green Tent’s activities, pointed out the Arab world’s ample resources for a tourism boom, citing security, infrastructure, communication and transportation networks, and a rich social and cultural heritage as key factors. He reflected on the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as a testament to the region’s capabilities.
