On March 18 and 19, Embraer welcomed the Brazilian Air Force’s C-390 Millennium and A-29 Super Tucano for their first visit to the region, a landmark moment for both aircraft. The gathering took place at the Embraer Executive Jets facility near Melbourne Orlando International Airport, attracting a wide-ranging audience that included government officials, military personnel, potential clients, and collaborators.

Moreover, the event featured the display of the Praetor 600, hailed as the world’s most advanced super-midsize jet, and the Phenom 300E, which has led the light jet market for 12 years running. Attendees had the opportunity over the two days to closely examine these sophisticated aircraft and delve into their features and functionalities.

“We were proud to host both our C-390 Millenium and A-29 Super Tucano at our Melbourne facility, allowing us to engage with an important and diverse audience while showcasing an aircraft built just hours away in Jacksonville,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO, Embraer Defense & Security. “The A-29 Super Tucano has been an important part of our manufacturing footprint in Florida for over 10 years, and we see big opportunities for both aircraft in the market with perhaps the potential to bring the C-390 here, as well”.

The C-390 stands as a multifaceted aircraft, merging a blend of established, cutting-edge technologies that lead to low operational costs, straightforward maintenance, and unparalleled operational readiness. This ensures seamless integration and communication in interconnected and multi-domain environments.

Globally, air forces benefit from the C-390’s superior fleet performance, optimal cost-effectiveness, and high availability, complemented by state-of-the-art equipment that meets all requirements. Distinguished by its ability to transport a greater load (26 tons) than its midsize military transport counterparts, the C-390 achieves higher speeds (470 knots) and covers longer distances. It is adept at a broad spectrum of tasks, including cargo and troop transport and drops, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian efforts, capable of operating on makeshift or unprepared runways, including those composed of compacted earth, soil, and gravel. Countries such as South Korea, Czech Republic, Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Brazil have chosen the C-390 for their fleets.

The operational fleet has amassed over 11,500 flight hours, boasting an operational availability rate of about 80% and mission success rates surpassing 99%, indicating its remarkable efficiency in its class.

Meanwhile, the A-29 Super Tucano, a turboprop light attack aircraft, is utilized by 16 air forces worldwide and has exceeded 500,000 flight hours, with 60,000 of those during combat missions. This aircraft excels in a variety of roles from close air support to air interdiction, supported by a versatile armament selection suited to different missions.
