Australia is set for a sales pitch from Sri Lanka Tourism with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) going on a new B2B road show in Australia. The programme will bring together Sri Lankan hotels, destination management companies and tour operators with Australian travel buyers, with luxury wellness, wildlife safaris and tea country circuits at its heart.
The campaign is built around three B2B networking sessions in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. According to SLTPB procurement documents, the programme aims to build relationships with Australian travel agents and tour operators, support collaboration and expand tourism opportunities between the two markets.
The roadshow comes as Sri Lanka diversifies tourism promotion across wellness, marine, cultural, adventure and business travel.
Wellness is one of the key products being presented to Australian buyers.

Sri Lanka combines coastal resorts, Ayurveda, spa treatments, yoga, nature settings and wellness-focused accommodation. Its tropical environment allows wellness itineraries to be paired with beaches, cultural visits, wildlife and hill-country journeys.
That combination supports longer itineraries. Travellers can begin with wellness experiences on the coast, move inland towards the central highlands and finish with cultural or wildlife experiences.
Sri Lanka Tourism has continued developing wellness tourism through international promotional activity.
Then there is the wildlife card, and Sri Lanka has plenty to put on the table.
The island offers safari experiences across national parks including Yala, Udawalawe, Minneriya and Wilpattu, with opportunities to encounter elephants, leopards and birds.
Wildlife can also be combined with beach holidays and cultural circuits. Travellers can move from the southern coast to Yala, continue towards the hill country and explore historic sites around the Cultural Triangle.
Sri Lanka’s tea country remains another major tourism asset.
The central highlands around Nuwara Eliya, Ella and Kandy offer tea estates, mountain scenery, waterfalls, rail journeys and cooler climates compared with the coast.
Tea-country circuits can be packaged as multi-stop journeys rather than isolated excursions. Visitors can tour estates, experience local tea production and combine the route with scenic train journeys.
For travel sellers, that creates an itinerary with accommodation, transport, food and guided experiences working together.
The B2B format is significant because travel agents and tour operators can influence how destinations are packaged and sold.
Sri Lanka previously conducted Australian roadshows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, with the 2024 programme involving Sri Lankan companies and Australian travel trade representatives. The new campaign shifts the city mix to Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, giving the destination access to travel businesses across three important Australian markets.
SLTPB’s official procurement document identifies Australia as a potential tourist-generating market and places the roadshows within efforts to strengthen business relationships and market expansion.
Sri Lanka is increasingly emphasising tourism products that can support higher visitor value rather than relying solely on arrival volume.
Packages built around wellness, wildlife, tea, culture, beaches and longer multi-destination journeys can become important components of the country’s international tourism strategy.
Sri Lanka uses the Sri Lankan rupee. Bandaranaike International Airport near Colombo is the principal international gateway.
Australian visitors can build itineraries around Colombo, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala, Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle.
Rail travel is particularly relevant for the hill-country circuit, while road transfers remain important for connecting airports, national parks, resorts and smaller destinations.

Australia tour is placing trade relationships at the forefront of their tourism campaign. This is achieved through linking travel buyers from Australia to hotels, destination experts, and tour operators, thus creating holidays based on wellness tourism, wildlife tourism, and tea country tourism. The three-city tour provides Australian travel companies with access to a range of tourism products from Sri Lanka.
