Etihad Airways has once again excelled in safety standards, passing its 10th consecutive IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) with zero findings and zero observations. This result solidifies Etihad’s status as an industry leader, having maintained perfection since its initial certification in 2006.
The IOSA is an internationally recognized program that evaluates an airline’s management and control systems. Etihad’s perfect performance illustrates the airline’s unwavering dedication to the highest operational safety and airworthiness standards, providing customers with a safe and dependable travel experience.
Mr. Mohammad Al Bulooki, Chief Operating Officer at Etihad Airways, stated that safety is their top concern, saying, “Safety is fully embedded in everything we do at Etihad.” We are extremely proud of our 17-year compliance record, especially in the face of the
COVID-19 pandemic.”
Earlier this year, the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) recognized the efficacy of Etihad’s Safety Management System (SMS), granting one of the best marks in the UAE. The award emphasized Etihad’s strong safety culture and the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence to improve operational safety.
The IATA-accredited audit team spent five days carefully analyzing Etihad’s management systems across all operational sectors. The audit includes a thorough analysis of the airline’s safety protocols as well as an evaluation of 922 specific operational and airworthiness criteria.
