GreenKey recognizes a property’s commitment to sustainable, environmentally responsible operations for each successive year. GreenKey is a globally recognised eco-certification programme that acknowledges tourism and hospitality establishments for meeting strict standards in environmental management and sustainable operations. In India, the programme is administered by the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Ahmedabad, which is a full member of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
Over the years, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & HICC has established itself as a leading example of sustainable MICE hospitality in Hyderabad. The landmark system includes 1,818 solar panels spread across 48,904 square feet, with a total capacity of 1,000 KWp. The solar plant generates around 4,000 units of electricity every day and supports nearly 50% of HICC’s energy requirements. The initiative also helps reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 1,022 tonnes annually.
