Korean Air has announced the commencement of seasonal charter flights connecting Seoul Incheon and Taichung, Taiwan, from May 2 to June 29.

The flights on the Seoul Incheon-Taichung route will run three times weekly, specifically on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Departures from Seoul Incheon are scheduled for 3:30 pm, arriving in Taichung at 5:15 pm. The return leg departs Taichung at 6:50 pm, landing back in Seoul Incheon at 10:40 pm (local times). These flights will be operated using a Boeing 737-8 aircraft with a seating configuration of 146 seats, including eight in Prestige class and 138 in economy class. Bookings can be made via Korean Air’s website, mobile app, or through authorized travel agencies.

Taichung, the second-largest city in Taiwan situated in the island’s central region, has gained recent attention as a notable travel destination, particularly highlighted in various Korean TV programs.

Noteworthy attractions in Taichung include the Gaomei Wetlands, often likened to the Uyuni Salt Flat in the East, along with opportunities for cruise experiences and cable car rides at the Sun Moon Lake, one of Taiwan’s eight scenic wonders. Additionally, the Fengjia Night Market offers a diverse array of culinary delights for visitors.

This new service adds to Korean Air’s existing routes to Taiwan, bringing the total roundtrip flights per week between Seoul Incheon and Taiwan to 24. This includes 14 flights between Seoul Incheon and Taipei, seven between Busan and Taipei, and three between Seoul Incheon and Taichung. Korean Air’s objective is to provide travelers with more convenient and varied scheduling options for visits to Taiwan.
