In a strategic maneuver designed to bolster its roster of Part 135 First Officers and Second-in-Command pilots for its expanding fleet of private aircraft, FlyHouse has established a partnership with the Southwest Airlines Destination 225°® Pilot Pathways Program.

Destination 225° serves as a launching pad within Southwest® for individuals aspiring to pursue a career in aviation. Aspiring pilots aiming to occupy the co-pilot seat at Southwest Airlines® must fulfill prescribed coursework, undergo flight training, and satisfy all regulatory requisites to obtain their commercial pilot’s licenses. Subsequently, upon achieving this milestone, cadets transition into certified flight instructors, accumulating further flight hours that qualify them for employment with FlyHouse, now recognized as a Destination 225° flight partner.

Jack Lambert Jr., CEO of FlyHouse, is especially excited about the partnership. He said, “This is an absolute win-win for FlyHouse and Southwest. We benefit by building a team of rising First Officer and Second-in-Command pilots that will come to us through the Destination 225° program. These cadets will fly for FlyHouse for a minimum of two years—or 12 months if operating as a Captain—providing a much-needed level of pilot stability. For its part, Southwest can look forward to a stable flow of competitively qualified First Officer candidates once they complete their tenure with FlyHouse, which, by definition, will include ongoing training and the accumulation of requisite flight hours.”

To be considered for recruitment by FlyHouse through the Destination 225° program, cadets must have graduated from an accredited university offering a Part 141 pilot program or completed their training via a flight training academy approved by Destination 225°. Furthermore, they must possess an FAA-issued commercial pilot’s license with ratings for multi-engine land and instrument airplane operations. Additionally, candidates must hold (or be eligible to obtain) an FAA first-class medical certificate, possess a valid passport enabling international travel to all destinations served by FlyHouse, and possess an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
