After dreaming for over seven years and 900 days of strategizing and construction by several experts, Royal Caribbean International greets the immensely predicted Icon of the Seas to the family at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland in a significant celebration. The largest cruise line of the world organized an event on the unique blend of the best of every holiday, where two months before, the representatives signed on the dotted line the new ship’s January 2024 presentation in Miami.
At the celebration, highlighting the milestone were over 1,200 crew members and workers, who got to meet Jason Liberty, the Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO, and Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley and Tim Meyer, Meyer Turku CEO.
Today, they are observing more than a new ship; it’s the celebration of the conclusion of over 50 years of innovation and dreaming as well at the Royal Caribbean to make the final vacation experience, said Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean Group, president and CEO. Delivering Icon of the Seas signifies all that can be attained with powerful alliances and a commitment to delivering unforgettable vacations and they congratulate Meyer Turku and an incredible village of expert people for joining them on this journey.
