For tourists, the Andaman and Nicobar administration has recently declared a set of curbs in the middle of the rise in Covid-19 cases.

From now on, in the first half — 9 am to 12.30 pm, only 500 visitors will be permitted to visit the museums of the Cellular Jail, which is a prime attraction among tourists.

In the second half i.e. between 1 pm to 4 pm, similar number of visitors will be allowed as per the recent orders issued by the Directorate of Tourism.

In Cellular Jail and Netaji Subhash Bose Island, the light and sound shows will be conducted with only 50 per cent of the capacity, the order said.

The visitors will have to adhere all COVID guidelines.

In addition, all the tourist boats will operate with 70 per cent capacity, the Directorate of Tourism said.

In view of the increase in coronavirus infections and detection of omicron cases in the islands, the curbs were put into practice.
