On Tuesday, the Lucknow UP government took the decision to put into practice it’s this year’s Water Tourism and Adventure Sports Policy and modify nine heritage buildings into heritage tourism units. This would be done on the model of public private partnership to heighten tourism in UP.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister, headed a cabinet meeting of the state that sanctioned a proposal to build up automated testing stations in the first phase as well to offer fitness certificates in 16 districts.
The tourism minister, Mr. Jaiveer Singh, while briefing media said that the policy of UP Water Tourism and Adventure Sports would be effectual for 10 years. It will be applicable on all air, inland, and water routes, dams, rivers, lakes, ponds and water bodies in the state.
The Bundelkhand regions and Hills in the Vindhya, about 16,620 sq kms in the foothills of the Himalayas along with the woods areas, waterfalls, rivers reservoirs, dams, and lakes had huge possibility in terms of water-based tourism along with water and adventure sports, he said.
At divisional levels, adventure sports units will be built. The Ex-servicemen Welfare Corporation and UP State Tourism Development Corporation will sign a MoU to take in ex-servicemen in the adventure sports units, he said.
