Forum starts in Macau to talk about tourism revival

On Thursday, the 10th Global Tourism Economy Forum was opened for the public in the Macao Special Administrative Region. It drew around 1,500 delegates worldwide to talk on the revival of tourism and innovations.


The main theme of this event was – Destination 2030: Unlocking the Power of Tourism for Business and Development. It would be a three-day forum, targeting to unlock the potential of joint cooperation between Chinese and global tourism markets and offer a new motivation for development of global tourism financial system.


The industry leaders, officials, decision-makers, and scholars all over the world are scheduled to talk about novel ways of creating a first-rate, resilient, and people-oriented setting for tourism in the new normal with the help of ground-breaking and sustainable international collaboration.


The secretary-general of the UNWTO, Zurab Pololikashvili, at a recent opening ceremony said that the forum is all prepared to be the best platform for collaboration between the private sector and governments in the area of tourism for development. Pololikashvili also added that they can shape the course of the future of the sector around the education, jobs, invention, and investments.


The Chinese tourism minister, Hu Heping, said that the ministry will capitalize on the forum with other countries to create inclusive environment for tourism.
