German national tourist board joins tourism council

The German National Tourist Board has recently partnered with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. The management of this internationally active group has affirmed the admission of the German National Tourist Board.

The Chairwoman of the GNTB Executive Board, Petra Hedorfer, explains that as a travel hotspot, Germany has by now created a powerful sustainable image in all these years. As per the GNTB Travel Industry Expert Panel for Q4 2023, almost 79 percent of CEOs and the main accounts in the global travel see Germany as a sustainable destination, with almost 62 percent deliberately marketing travel offers to Germany keeping this in mind.

The affiliation of GNTB with the GSTC highlights an important moment, providing new viewpoints and opportunities. This collaboration eases the exchange of experiences with the members of GSTC allowing them to display sustainable tourism products of Germany on the global stage.

Alongside, they pledge to share insights and information gathered from taking part in GSTC programs with their German tourism partners to strengthen their position as an important sustainable tourism destination.
