Amari Raaya Maldives, the new premium destination resort in the heart of the Indian Ocean, has announced its festive programme, which will take place between December 23rd and January 1st, 2024.

The crowning achievement of this year’s celebrations is an exclusive New Year’s Eve DJ performance by none other than music sensation Marvin Humes – current contender on this year’s enthrallingly popular ITV show, ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 2023’.

Guests may enjoy a variety of thrilling activities centred on the “When East Meets West” idea. Western traditions like decorating a grand Christmas tree, seeing Santa, and festive craft sessions combine with Maldivian experiences like a sunset cruise, learning traditional dance, and sumptuous cookery classes, all set against the island’s breathtaking beauty and warm tropical climate to create an unforgettable festive experience.

Daily highlights include:
• Christmas tree decoration at Village Square will be celebrated on December 23rd.
• Christmas Eve events include a Christmas painting session, traditional Maldivian cookery class and a joyous Christmas tree lighting ceremony and cocktail party. The celebration continues with Christmas Eve Gala Dinner on the beach, featuring live music and dedicated kids’ corner.
• Christmas Day can be celebrated with Christmas craft session and a lavish Christmas Lunch Buffet at Amaya Food Gallery, the open-air dining hub. In the evening there will be a Christmas Day Cocktail party at Ampers’ roof-top relishing cocktails and gourmet canapes.
• Amari Raaya Arts and Crafts Festival will be held on December 27th. On the same night one can experience vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of Maldives in Amaya Food Gallery. This celebration will showcase local traditions, flavours, music and dance.
• Amari Raaya Street Market and Food Festival to be held on December 28th.
• Amari Raaya Super Heroes Battle to be celebrated on December 29th.

Amari Raaya Maldives, which opened this year on 1st August 2023, is located on one of the largest natural islands in Raa Atoll – easily accessible just 45 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport. On this large island, there is much to explore, from diving with the certified PADI instructors to spot the local sea turtles – or swimming with whale sharks, paddle-boarding, jet-skiing or kayaking.
